GutlessSupreme
Disconnect battery Disconnect all wires from starter From there I think there's only two bolts holding it from the bottom. I remember one of them's really long (not that you can tell with it still bolted in..)
Crazy K
You do need to disconnect the battery. there should(but sometimes it's missing) also be a protective shield held on by three or four 10mm bolts, you'll need to remove too. The two bolts on the starter, I recall being 15 mm, and I often find it necesary to use a universal joint to remove the long rearward one as it sits close to the frame. (I recall possibly using a wrench to break it loose) other than that, make sure to reinstall ALL the wires you removed back onto their studs. Sometimes a new starter may require a spacer(I recall reading somewhere these cars shouldn't but once in a while they do) If the starter grinds when turning, you need one. I've also coated the started gear with grease. Anyone else thing that is worth doing?
stockgp
also, be careful when putting the wires back on the starter solenoid. last time i did, one of the wires ended up rubbing the ground strap on the solenoid. it killed my battery and when i tried to charge it, the starter was trying to turn over the engine
