ExZion
Me and friend have been looking at my 1994 Cutlass Supreme sl 3.1L We were wondering how hard it would be to pull that engine and trans and replace it with a 3800 Supercharged out of a Pontiac SSE. Would It be worth it?
terryk2003
check out http://www.l67swap.com ! and FWIW: if the bonneville is supercharged it would be an SSEI!
Guest TurboSedan
and FWIW: if the bonneville is supercharged it would be an SSEI! not necesarrily. the SSE, (probably SLE too) and even the SE could get an L67 depending on year. i have seen an L67 Bonneville SE in person, but it was a '93 IIRC. stockgp
i think the motor mounts are different from w bodies, aren't they?
mfewtrail
i think the motor mounts are different from w bodies, aren't they? Not sure about the motor mounts, but I'm almost certain that various other brackets need to be changed out if you're getting an engine from a Bonneville. ExZion
ok thanks for the input guys what motor would you recomend?
manitcor
you can get it from a bonnie, you just need to change out the motor mounts. Word of warning, you cant just swap the engine. You will need: Engine (complete with injectors and accessories) Transmission Engine Wiring Harness Computer Most likely a new fuel pump Axels Its alot of work but it is a good swap. If your not looking to spend that much time and money a 3400 is a direct drop in with your exisitng transmission and computer. And will be good for 15-20hp over what your running with your 3100. Costs the same as replacing the 3100 as well.
