Guest Anonymous Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 I started up the car today to go run an errand and the coolant light came on in the systems monitor. I stayed on until my destination, and on the way home it went off about half way there. My coolant level is also fine? Is it just a fluke? Quote
f_399 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 yeah it happens to mine too people say it could be faulty sensor or some bad gaskets(whatever my 3100 is known for breaking) Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 fluke or bad sensor. Watch your coolant level. Quote
GP1138 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 Mine's leaking from the overflow tank very slowly, and I've been too lazy to fix it. Although it scares me a little every time I see it (every three months or so at the slow rate it's leaking) because the most recent gasket job was in March and it was a DIY, my first time. I always doubt my own work. Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 my moms 3400 used to do it all the time, it would sound the coolant light for no reason all the time, just randomly, we overfilled it and it went away, it was the most annoying thing ever, it would go DING DING DING every time it went on Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Ok, so my coolant WAS VERY LOW, so i filled it up... halfway between hot and cold in the tank and the radiotor stem is about 1" from the top. But the light is still on... what gives??? Quote
3pt1lumina Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 If the coolant was low, I'd pressure test that system. It's going somewhere...maybe that it shouldn't be. Quote
White93z34 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 don't just check the overflow tank, check the radiator itself. make sure you do it when the car is cold, if its low there fill it to the top then worry about the overflow tank. Quote
