leaking trunk

I have a 95 pontiac grand prix that has been getting alot of water in the trunk( tire well is covered in rust film and carpet is soaked). I was thinking it is time to replace the weatherstripping, or am I missing something else. Has anybody had this problem--what did you do to fix the problem

Tail light seals can go bad, you can use silicone or somthing similar to reseal them, and check the weatherstripping for rips, cracks, or if its deformed
