Hey guys/girls.. havent been on here in forever.. but anyway i got a 3.4dohc and it sometimes rev's up to about 3000 rpm's in park at idel..

Then the other day I was going down the express way going 70mph and the engine light came on started reving up real hgh to about 3500, then reved back down and started dieing out.. then it started driving fine agan and engine light went off..

Today I tried to start it and it wouldnt start it turned over fine but would'nt start untill I put the gas peddle to the floor, then it would start ..

I think it might be a mass air flow sensor... help me out plz...

95 is obd 1.5, you will have to head to autozone or napa and have them scan your codes.

Sounds like something with the tranny. Torque convertor or else the TCC maybe?

You guess TPS.... I guess everyone's answer to any problems is checking the TPS or IAC... (i have leaking coolant... Check your TPS...)

It shifts fine.. It messes up in park the most.. revs real high, sometimes actslike its dieing out.. cinda like a vacum leak.. and something wrong with the tranny would'nt cuase it to not want to start....

But, did you not state in your post that when you were driving is when this happened, correct?

Yep, I think you did.

Anyways, a vacuum leak wouldn't cause a no start situation, unless every damn vacuum line was broken or cracked at the same time(very very unlikely).

Just take it to NAPA, Murrays, AutoZone or whatever you have locally and get the codes scanned. It's the only way of getting your codes from your vehicle.

Make sure you dont have water getting into your intake.. my car did the exact same thing when my airfilter got pluged and water started working its way into the intake covering the MAFsensor caused a ruff idle and to die.

try taking it out and cleaning it off be careful not to hurt the resistors if that dosnt help then it may be other factors.

take note of the weather conditions air temp snow rain.. see if there is a pattern
