3pt1lumina Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 I am trying to get the adhesive off of the trunk where it used to say "Lumina." I broke the 'a' off and I need to replace the emblem. So I took the old emblem off. Now how do I get the adhesive off? I want to put my new badge on there. I know what to use for that. Quote

1990lumina Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 I broke my "A" off last year as well pushing the car (well my friend did)...I just glued it back on and it looks decent Quote

3pt1lumina Posted December 17, 2005 Author Report Posted December 17, 2005 I just want the paint to be safe. I can't afford to paint the car for another couple of years, so I dont want to use the wrong thing and make it look like crap. If it's like taking pinstriping off, I'll use my "scratch out." That worked fine Quote
DiscoStudd Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 I de-badged my Regal using 3M Aerosol Adhesive and Wax Remover... hey discostudd how do you use that stuff??? Spray a little on the crusty old black emblem tape and let it soak for a few seconds, then spray a butt-load of it on a cloth rag and wipe away (well, you'll need to use a little "elbow grease.") It does work excellent, though. I also used it when I removed the pinstriping from the front fenders, and it worked great for that as well... Quote
GP1138 Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 I used engine degreaser, very carefully, mind you. It wasn't on the paint for more than 5 seconds. Quote
