supreme_style21
I happened to see a complete Onstar system out of a newer GP on Ebay... I'm just curious as to whether or not that would work to put the system in an older GP?
Redfox340
Perhaps as long as you have the information box, but registrating it would be a different story. I read up on this since my parents Monte has it, and since it's pre-programed for a certain ID number and VIN, transferring it to another vehicle could be illegal / against policy... but there's a lot of little kinks that could spring up by you installing it... Besides, why OnStar? Curious, do you need it? What in your car that an outside party needs to watch it for you? I don't really like sercurity systems (except factory installed) due to the fact it's another integrated wiring nightmare that will most likely be a hassle down the road. - RedFox340
Guest RedCutlassSL
Do you have any idea how easy factory security systems are to bypass? I could do it in less than a minute.

SmokesGTP
Not All Factory alarm systems are easy to disable. My moms Mistersquishi Galant has a wiring problem with the security and it goes off all the time. The mechanic says mitsubishi wont give them the wiring schematics so they have no idea what wires to cut. 1000$ for a new main wiring harness?!

GnatGoSplat
I don't think OnStar will work. The GPS locator and call button could probably be made to work, but for the Onstar office to be able to monitor/control your car, the Onstar box needs to be linked to the BCM. I'm not even sure if the GP got a BCM in 95-96. If it did, it's probably not the all-encompassing BCM like the one in the 97+. I know 94 and older do not have a BCM at all.
