kknobl Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 The power locks on my Grand Prix go haywire when it's cold out - they seem to have a mind of their own. When I first start the car, they'll lock, even though I have not put the car in drive (locked me out a couple of days ago, which sucked). I go to unlock and they lock right back up. This persists for the first two or three minutes the car is running, then they're fine. Anyone else have this issue? Is this just another in a long line of quirks for the W-Bodies or is there an easy fix? Thanks, Kevin Quote
1990lumina Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Moisture build up on some contact somewhere which causes that maybe?? After the car has some air blowing around for a bit the condensation disappears?? Quote
Crazy K Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 I've experienced sticky/shorted power lock switches. Try disconnecting one, then the other, then both, to see it the problem doesn't happen with the switches disconnected. Obviously if one of them is disconnected and the problem doesn't occur, then thats the switch at fault. good luck - Ken Quote
