MoTox8410 Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 what would happen if fabbed up a solid engine mount for my car only for my dogbone besides extra vibation?? or if i a added a piece of sheet metal 1/4" to the left side of the dogbone if you could imagine (i know a solid one would be better but...) will it tear up my other mounts or just vibrate like hell??? chadz34 Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Do the solid one, it WILL vibrate like hell. Quote
94CutlassSLCoupe Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 It will vibrate like hell...we used one we made out of wood to see if the engine was really bucking badly or if it was a CV shaft...yeah it was a CV shaft. Don't waste your time! Quote
MoTox8410 Posted December 12, 2005 Author Report Posted December 12, 2005 i have 3 hours everyday in school of doing nothing in the shop cause im so far ahead so i have the time....first i would start with the sheet metal and then depending on how it effecs the car ill make a solid one Quote
3pt1lumina Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 It will vibrate like hell; my friend did it to his Cavalier. It's insane. Quote
manitcor Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 i have the poly mounts from ZZP in mine, not really bad vibration at all, or do you mean a solid lower mount? Quote

MoTox8410 Posted December 13, 2005 Author Report Posted December 13, 2005 the dogbone for now and then maybe a lower one Quote
manitcor Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 dog bones will cause some mild vibration but nothing bad, I have inserts on the frame side, havent done them on the engine side yet. Quote
MoTox8410 Posted December 13, 2005 Author Report Posted December 13, 2005 so i did it and a lil bit more vibration (more so a clicking noise) and it definitley seems easier to light them up Quote
