Dirty Rockstar Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Was driving my friend Peter's Aurora, and was accelerating with it under 2 transmission conditions, Normal, and "Mother Fucker" mode, or sprt mode.. I loved the way the thing shifted like that, and I seem to recall one of these transmissions being able to accept a program for this.. If I am wrong, let it die here, but i would like to know if it is possible for the 94 Supreme 3100/4 Spd OD.. Thanks.. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 It's performance shift, and your PCM has to have the coding in it to use the alternate shift patterns. 4T60 performance shift only affects shift points. 4T65 performance shift affects shift points and line pressure, drastically changing the feel of the car. Dirty Rockstar Posted December 12, 2005 Author Report Posted December 12, 2005 Well, the Monte I am about to buy will get that.. SO I can at least alter the points on the 94? Cool.. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Yes. The PCM should have the provisions for the peformance shift on/off lead. You will have to get it reprogrammed with your specifications. Quote
sl3196 Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Performance shift does not change shift points on a 4T65E. (well stock pcm anyway) It just makes the car downshift with less throttle then normal. Now on my reprogrammed pcm, yes the shift points and line pressure are raised. And I really didn't notice too much when my car was stock. Quote
PeNZ Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 So you cant make a switch as in the 2nd gear start thread on the 4t60e? Quote
99RegalGS Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 You could probably use the 2nd gear start button and just have it reporgramed to be a performance shift button instead. Â There was a thread about converting the 2nd gear switch into a performance switch awile ago. I'll see if I can dig it up. Â EDIT: http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28546 Quote
PeNZ Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Oh so theres no way to have performance shift on a stock pcm? Quote
Dirty Rockstar Posted December 13, 2005 Author Report Posted December 13, 2005 Thats what I am gathering here.. The 3100 (for 94 at least) can;t be done because no one really WANTS to.. That sucks.. Quote
PeNZ Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Sure does, I guy at work has a 94 GTP and he has sports shifting. Quote
Dirty Rockstar Posted December 13, 2005 Author Report Posted December 13, 2005 THe DOHC ones are possible because it is still OBD I Â The problem is on the 3100, it is "OBD 1.5" Â And Vegeta was working on both a DOHC and a 93 3.1 Quote

I doubt they'd have two different systems in the same year. Quote
sl3196 Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Sure does, I guy at work has a 94 GTP and he has sports shifting. Must be custom eh? Quote
Vegeta Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 94-95 DOHC use a different computer, that I can mess with. 94+ pushrods on the other hand are flash. That is, unless you get the A body computer from 94 for the 3100, but I dont have the code layout for that one either so I can't really help with that as well. Quote
Dirty Rockstar Posted December 13, 2005 Author Report Posted December 13, 2005 Where would one go to get the code layout for these? Because 94 Cieras/Centurys are poppin up everywhere Quote
