Supreme Cutlass Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Before I got my car, I was told it got a tune-up when I called the shop that worked on it. The car hasn't been driven much, so this is theoretically 300-500 miles of wear... yeah right. Unless this amount of wear is normal.. Quote
Regal_GS_1989 Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005  That looks more like 50 000 miles worth of wear. But i have seen worse. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 shit at least your pulgs dont have ash deposits like mine do........ Quote
birdman Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 i belive that looks like it was running hot, not for sure but the pics in any repair manual shows the different wear types. Quote
94CutlassSLCoupe Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 that's about how the plugs looked on my '95 blazer when i pulled them out with 100k on it. those are nowhere near new, IMHO Quote
pwmin Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 its hard to tell from the looks of it as far as it looking like its not burning the fuel well and looks oil soaked, but the electrode shouldnt be worn down that much. might want to try one range hotter. Quote

Crazy K Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 BOSCH? no wonder they look like crap. I's say probably 5000 miles for shit like that. my bro's Cutlass had 2 boschs and 4 ac delcos in it, the engine kept misfiring, the bosches were burnt and oily. (but in fairness, i think they were two left when someone didn't finsh changing all the plugs.) I also pulled AC Delco plugs from a 89 pontiac w tech 4. the center electode was worn almost even with the insulating tip. I measured the gap, is was 2 and 1/2 times the proper gap. With about 145000 miles, do you think that might be the factory plugs? Quote
Supreme Cutlass Posted December 11, 2005 Author Report Posted December 11, 2005 I just put in new delcos... my GOD what a difference. Quote
GP1138 Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 I just put in new delcos... my GOD what a difference. Quote
chadz34 Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 That's the worst plug I've ever seen. Before I came to this website, I actually thought BOSCH made decent plugs. Maybe they do, just not for our cars. Quote
gp90se Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 That plug isnt awful, but it is warn out. I put bosch plugs in dodges and fords, GM cars they have issues, but we have been thru this Quote
