anitfreeze leak from the... uhh...

ok, so I got my car back from the shop (not even a mechanic shoP; long story for another day) after having my intake gasket replaced and my car is leakin oil and antifreeze out the ass! took the oil filter off and there was electrical tape stuck inbetween the gasket on the filter and the thing it goes on to. so I got a new filter in, toped off my oil, since then the oil has been fine. filled the antifreeze several times, and it still continues to leak. Ive checked the hoses and looked for a leak and all that Ive been able to find is a drip behind the belt and some wetness by the frost cap. could it be coming from the thermostat (they probably put the old one back on even though we had a New one in the car!!!)???

whaaaat?? that sounds like a major screw up.. so what kinda shop did this work if it wasen't a mechanics shop, a fabric shop?

well, if it were me and i found that crap on the filter, i'd have the intakes off like right NOW, and basically redo all the work you just had done, then take recipts and go in screaming.

This sounds like a major endorsement for those of us that like to learn about our cars rather than let morons work on them.

Sounds like you better get the lube out, dude.

the shop does ac, heated seats and stuff like that, not engines, but I guess its going back later this week so they can mess it up again!

Umm, so WHY pray tell did you take it in for such a serious engine job, the LIM, to a place thats not even a shop, No wonder

i know I'm having an bit of a small anti-freeze leak where the fluid is going on the acc drive belt and then making its way to splatter onto the radiator hose right infront of the belt. I talked to the guys at my local dealership and the service manager told me I should check my water pump. It is directly in the viscinty of the acc. drive belt, and if it's "squirting" out it could be my problem. I say check your water pump! I can provide a picture if needed tonight.
