GutlessSupreme
The inside of the TSTE's engine looks a little less than spectacular as far as I'm concerned. I want to flush the oil build up in the heads/etc, but BEFORE putting it all back togther. Obviously just pouring a bottle of flush into the heads and rinsing with oil hasn't been doing much since it just flows straight down into the pan. I'm thinking the best way would be to remove the oil pump drive and just run the pump off a drill (the rod down to the pump is just a 6 point hex drive) with a few bottles of flush and some oil in the pan, that way it circulates everywhere and wash down without having to start the motor. I figure there'll be less chance of something getting clogged up with way. Sound like a good plan? Should I use thin or thick oil with the flush? Any recommened products? I'll do it again after the motor's back together too and change the oil a few times.. I'm just really afraid about clogging something. Should I disconnect the turbo's oil feed and do that seperate so I don't risk getting any chunk stuck in those small lines? I'd just pull the heads and hot tank/get them rebuilt and do my best with the block but I want to hold off until spring on then when it's warmer out and I can fix other stuff while I'm in there. Supreme Cutlass
Seems like a pretty good idea, I'm not sure how it would hurt anything.

gp90se
sounds like a good idea. kero is cheaper though. if you want to be lazy, disconnect the ignition modual (sp) and crank the fucker for 20-30 seconds. make sure ya have the oil line disconnected from the turbo and you change the oil change after 100 miles when ya start driving it again. Pabz
Oil pump drive with drill works ok, mainly it pushes the oil through the lifter channels no? Are you replacing the lifters? Do this after its all cleaned out. Here that diesel fuel is good to clean the block to. Fumes will make you
