J Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 http://www.directhits.com/ they show dyno charts for a 4 hp gain, at $255 for a 3.1 liter. would it work? (just asking, wouldn't buy it) EDITED Quote
Vegeta Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 um, thats 255 for the set. Are you trying to install 6 spark plugs in each cylinder? No 3.4 DOHC option. I wonder why:P Quote
J Posted December 1, 2005 Author Report Posted December 1, 2005 where does it say the set, it says each Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Either way, $255 for 4hp is a joke. And anyone who thinks they get a good deal is a moron. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 I'm gonna rip out my AC Delcos and poop on them cause I gotta have those plugs!!!! What a deal!! Quote
Darksyde Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 I heard about them a while ago when they first came out. They seemed like a decent idea. But not for the $$$ Quote
BadBuick Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Uh huh, keep in mind that our cars operate on a waste spark system where one cylinder fires on compression and the other fires on exhaust, these systems also operate at about 100,000 volts and will find their way easily for the reverse spark. Quote
Vegeta Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 40k volts per coil pack. So its 225 for the number 1 cylinder that is about 5" long on a 3.1, and 225 for the number 6 which is about 3 feet or more. Come one, its a fricken set for 225. Each application. I didnt see where you could order number 2 spark plug set for 225. Quote
manitcor Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 that dyno sheet they posted is funky, first off it says CAM ADJUST as the name for the second run and if you look at the time between the 2 runs, your telling me they changed the pulgs and wires and reset for another dyno pull in 20mins. Im not saying they couldnt have but its been my expiernces that it can be 5-10mins between dyno pulls as it is. Based on the dyno it looks like they did just as it says, they adjusted the cams. The concept is intriguing but I dont see this achieving anything more than your aveage MSD box already does. Stock GM iginition systems are quite powerful as it is. Quote
Crazy K Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 It's a joke a fraud a scam! just like the tornado air devices! they don't actually work! If you do ANY research, your will find that no matter how great any spark plug can be, they Can't increase horsepower, only maximize the potential you already have. $12 on basic ac delco spark plugs every 10,000 miles is a much better investment! Assuming that the test dyno wasn't fake, wouldn't you suppose that they are comparing theirs to the worn spark plugs they just pulled? Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 i agree - it's the new gimmick. Quote
Schudini Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 500 AMPS PEAK CURRENT!! :yikes: Quote
Jcrow Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Yeah, how does their little gizmo make more spark power anyway? It says it stores up spark power - well it takes time to store power - so does that mean your spark timing is retarded now? For the price of 2 of their setups you could get nitrous or something Quote
TeeJay3800 Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 The really stupid thing is that a number of people will fall for it, and then list it as a mod that cut a 1/2 second off their quarter mile time. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Well hey if motor mounts count as a "performance mod" then why cant those Quote
