THe_DeTAiL3R Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 Well we got some new stuff at work today, and I worked OT for training, guy in the bodyshop trained me how to use this stuff. 3M "Hookit" whool pad.. http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001/auto_marine_aero/automotive_aftermarket/node_GSW08VN2HGgs/root_GST1T4S9TCgv/vroot_GSLPLPKL4Xge/bgel_FMN14MK6TTbl/gvel_GSV783X65Hgl/theme_us_aad_3_0/command_AbcPageHandler/output_html use with 3M rubbing compound, I forget what kind exactly so I don't have a link... 3M "Perfect-Itâ„¢ Hookitâ„¢" Foam Polishing Pad http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001/auto_marine_aero/automotive_aftermarket/node_GS9SFTT3Z0gs/root_GST1T4S9TCgv/vroot_GSLPLPKL4Xge/bgel_GSM3YKNSLGbl/gvel_GSV783X65Hgl/theme_us_aad_3_0/command_AbcPageHandler/output_html to use with this: 3Mâ„¢ Perfect-Itâ„¢ 3000 Swirl Mark Remover http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001/auto_marine_aero/automotive_aftermarket/node_S2Z6ZJRKZTgs/root_GST1T4S9TCgv/vroot_GSLPLPKL4Xge/bgel_HTLMPLZZ34bl/gvel_GS8V45YN4Pgl/theme_us_aad_3_0/command_AbcPageHandler/output_html Did the hood and decklid of a dark blue Regal, it turned out fairly well considering I don't have much experience with the buffer... These products were really nice to use (compared to the old stuff which needed water, made things more complicated). I didn't "burn" the paint like before. Can't wait to do my car!! Quote
1990lumina Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 One reason I want to work at a dealer, car wash, etc.....free car washes and use of their products...or at least a nice discount. Sure I get free tomatoes and oranges and shit...but that isn't a car wash. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted November 30, 2005 Author Report Posted November 30, 2005 Just wait till I get a little bit more practise (I don't wanna fuck up my own car ) .. but seriously I'm not "fucking up" anyones car ...I will have the shiniest 10 year old red paint in town!!! Quote
gtped Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 I use the foam pads and they work great especially the solid pads. the waffle one works good to. Quote
