my 3.4 has 210,000 on it and it could easily do another 50,000 no prob, as well as my 284.

=260,000-125,000 (my cars mileage)

=135,000 miles life left.

My trans has 15k miles on it. So possibly more.

I am ok at math, Until it comes to variables and I get lost.

I was talking to a guy over the weekend who bought a 92 Z34 brand new in 1991 and is still driving it daily and getting regular maintenance done at the local dealer. The car had just hit 500,000, on the original engine! Mostly highway miles but still!

That would be the highest mileage LQ1 I've heard of for sure.

So are LQ1's as capable of super-high mileage like the 3.1's are?

Yes! I've seen a ton of them with up to 280,000 miles on them. A lot a w-bodies get junked due to transaxles needing a rebuild rather than a wore out engine.

I don't think the LQ1 is at all unreliable. People just scared when they know the timing belt needs replacement or the transmission is shot. W bodies aren't really worth a whole lot so they just junk em or sell em off.

I hope you referred this dude to the forum!! hell, I'm surprised the instrument cluster still works. I can't keep a tripmeter working over 150,000 miles

Your engine is reliable as good as you take care of it.

My moms car isn't going to last she is at 17,340 miles and still has yet to get an oil change.

Its a vw lease, she doesn't care.

Lease or not, is no reason to be a retard.

I agree, but the dealer ship is a 50 mile round trip drive, and she can only put on 9,000 a year on.

She only has 700 miles left until she goes over.

sounds like an ub3r shitty lease....

FWIW: My GP will be rolling over to 209k soon on the original engine and trans.

Last spring, I was at Parts Galore two 3.4's where there. One with 260k and another with 290k. It all comes down to maintenance.
