Crazy K Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 For me it was a 305,000 mile 92 CS sedan with a 3.1 motor. Sadly it was at an auction and had been T-boned but only needed a new door. My personal high mileage car is at 205,000 miles, running synthetic since i acquired it at 160000. this came to mind from this thread that is discussing oil http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=445874#445874 Quote
94CutlassSLCoupe Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I have seen a 1991 Lumina Euro 3.1 with 350,000 miles on it. The guy who owned it traded it in because the original transmission was starting to slip ...he was the original owner My '88 CS made 200k before the cradle bolt broke Quote
Bake82 Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I was looking at a 90 CS for parts that had 350 km on it which works out to be about 218k miles. Amazing thing was, the seats were still in AMAZING condition  Quote
Crazy K Posted November 29, 2005 Author Report Posted November 29, 2005 p.s. if you know the originality that really helps! I know somehing was done to my lumina (205,000 mile car) I had to torque down the bolts, they were all backing out! -ken Quote
TeeJay3800 Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 p.s. if you know the originality that really helps! I'd like to know if these motors and trannies are original too. I can definitely believe a GM V-6 going for 200,000+ miles, but I would be shocked if a transmission went that long without a rebuild. Quote
Dirty Rockstar Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I seem to recall a member here with a 400,000 mile Regal with the 3800 in it.. Only saw the guy once when he had a question.. SO, that is the highest Ive ever heard about.. Seen.. Well, I saw a 250k mile Z34 in the yard.. Paint looked brand new, but Ill bet a kid got it and neglected the timing.. Quote
Regal_GS_1989 Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 my 89 GS has the original tranny in it. 385 000 Kms (239 xxx) Miles  And other than a 1st - 2nd shift that is a lil slow, has not shown any signs of slipping. Quote
Euro Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 my friend's first car was a base 92 lumina with the 3.1 her mom gave it to her with like 250,000 miles on it..she got rid of it with like 320,000 on the original motor Quote
Garrett Powered Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 There is a red TGP that went 350 k. The tranny died and I think he put it to rest. I tried to talk him into rebuilding it. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Rust claimed the life of my 88 GP... I know that 2.8 could have kept on going! The tranny was good too. It had about 170k miles which isn't near as much as many of you guys have, but I really don't do that much driving. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 My 89 has the highest mileage of any W-body I've seen in person. It has over 200,000 and doesn't look a day over 50,000 (except for that dented up front fender). Quote
GOT2B GM Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I've seen a 92 Z34 Auto in the yard this summer with 310,000 kms on it. Just for shits, I hooked my booster pack up to it, and it started up and ran pretty decent! The body was really rough though. My 92 Z34 parts car has 260,000 kms and runs but not very well. My 93 Z34 daily driver has 218,000 kms and works great. Quote
pitzel Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 There are some early 90s Luminas around here that a taxi cab company runs around town that have 600-700k km's on them. That is over 400k miles. Don't know anything about their maintenance, but apparently they have cannibalized at least a few similar W-bodies over the years to keep 'em on the road. Quote
Crazy K Posted November 30, 2005 Author Report Posted November 30, 2005 yikes! lol keep it coming! Quote

Nah, just pounded out the old one so I can drive it and shut the hood. The "new" one (really a used one) needs some body work that I can't do myself. If I can't do it myself, it takes me awhile to arrange for someone else to do it. Sometimes, a LONG while. I still haven't gotten my truck fixed that was tornado damaged in May '03. Quote
Prospeeder Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 not a wbody, but still a 3.1! This is insane http://www.kinston.com/SiteProcessor.cfm?Template=/GlobalTemplates/Details.cfm&StoryID=24419&Section=Local Quote
Addicted2bass Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Ive seen a 93 Cavalier Z24 (not a w-body but a 3.1) with 305,000 on it. The car was in great condition (especially for a Western New York car!) The only blemish was the trunk, which someone had keyed all sorts of things onto. Quote

Daggar Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Olds Cutlass Supreme that I took the digital dash out of had an impressive 649,620 KM  on it before it crashed. It wasn't a cab either Quote
Bossman429 Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 I work with a guy with something around 300K on his Lumina, all original I'm pretty sure. My Beretta (3.1/TH125C 3 speed) has 196,000 on it right now. The motor was replaced with a 100K junk yard motor at ~160K, and it still has the original TH125 in it. Fluid is bright red all the time (change it once a year or so) and it still shifts nice and firm. The 90 Bonneville I am parting out has 324K on it. Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 highest i have seen in person is my daily driver Cutlass - up to 232,000 miles right now. i've been delivering pizza with this car since i bought it at 111,000 miles. i'm still using the original motor, which has never been rebuilt and is taking 10psi boost very well i might add 8) i did the 5-speed swap at ~164,000 miles, but it was still working fine when i pulled it. my Turbo STE has about 160,000 right now. I should print that out and offer it as evidence to a prospective buyer of how long my car will last after he buys it. 8) Quote
5speedz34 Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 My friend's dad has a '97 Camaro with 350k on it! Most of it was highway, the trans was replaced a while back, and recently the headgaskets went so he had a crate motor from GM thrown in. Quote
