GrandPrix34 Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 i was wondering if there were any tranny oil addititves to help slipping or at least stop slipping while i save enough for a rebuild.. for the rebuild i was planning of I myself purchasing the kit and taking to a tranny rebuilder and just pay for the labor. Aside of that i was also gonna purchase the Trans Go Rebuild shift kit. Quote
nerfbars Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 "LUCAS STOP SLIP" Its the best! It works wonders for me! It has gotten me by for 4 years with my slip. I just chance the fluid and filter add the Lucas. After about 5 months or so the slip comes back so I change the fluid again and add more Lucas. Quote
gimp19 Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 When I had my 82 bonneville the tranny was junk and most of the fluid would leak out in a weak. It also wouldn't go in reverse with out special tranny fluid and additves, it worked good untill it leaked right back out. You can get tranny additives at just about any store and they only cost a couple bucks if you're tranny dont leak they they are worth the money. Quote

I put in some Lucas additive stuff when i changed my tranny fluid.....it was very syrupy...I nicknamed it Aunt J's for a while haha...nasty, but i haven't had any tranny problems! Quote
patgizz Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 my buddy's grand prix has been living on lucas for the better part of 6 months. it had a nasty slip till he added it. Quote
paulo57509 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I knew of a guy that had a Powerglide that was slipping badly. A can of STP did the trick. I don't think I'd do this though. Quote
