lower rpm for efficiency or higher RPM for power?

  1. 1. lower rpm for efficiency or higher RPM for power?

Recommended Posts

My Question is to ask if anyone knows how to determine what ratios a 4t60 or 4t60e tranmission has, if they are indicated on the tranmission plate or spid?

The reason i ask is that my:

91 Lumina Euro ran 2000 rpm at 60 mph (god rest it's hulk)

92 Lumina Sedan runs 2000 rpm at 72 mph(w Euro cluster)

94 CS S runs 2000 rpm at 72mph 4t60e

95 CS SL runs 2000 at 60 mph. 4t60e

And needing a transmission for a 91 CS... I'd like to get the higher drive ratio 4t60 tranny from a junk car, (with no way to test drive):?

I want the more efficient one, but also have no way to determine the deceased tranny's ratio

I'll bet plenty of cash that all 4 of your cars have a 3.33 axle ratio (what all 4T60/60-E LHO's and L82's got).....................

The rpm differences are probably due to differences in the state of TC lockup.
