I got mine off a Cutlass 'Vert in a junkyard. Yes it helps. If you bounce back and forth coming out of a driveway, you won't after the bar. It makes large curves much easier to steer around. I notice I'm not muscling the wheel as much around curves, I don't have to use two hands as much. They also bolt on. I put mine on in the junkyard parking lot.
