Cat back dual exhaust

Doods, gutting out the cat has pissed me off, Nothing more that i hate is a shitty sounding exhaust.

What should i get?

So time comes for a catback exhaust. I have a buddy whose family owns and he works (weekends) at an exhaust shop. The did my cousins civic, YES ricer exhaust, but they did it all up headers all the way to dual fartcans. Civic is now sold. Did it for $700 holy shit!!!

Anyways, Doing cat back, keeping in mind i will drop a bigger engine in a few years. Whats a decent size, I like those mufflers in the other post. Magnaflows!! Its only a 2.8

what do you mean by bigger? depending on the gap, that can be very hard to have one that works for both. since theres no exhaust cutouts you could maybe go with a single for now and add dual after the swap?

Still debating on $6000 for a crate L67, or going with a rebuild that I can find stuff on. Really thinking about the DOHC, so one of the two.

Waiting for a cutlass vert with a DOHC to come around, then i can have both.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, where can i find the differences? I am expecting this 2.8 to last a few years.

6grand? thats way too much. you can find an L32 crate engine with everything but alternator and similar for 3 grand. best is to just get a used engine/tranny/harness, and built that. it would cost less than 3grand that way plus everything else to put it in there.

differences in your engine choice (L67vsLQ1)?

just want the spec differences, what will be the size difference from the 2.8 system and a 3.4 DOHC, and an 3.8?

I mean is it a totally different muffler size, or tubing? Keep in mind i can get this done cheap.

I have done the research on the swaps, just want to know what cat back setup will allow me to use it with a larger motor later on, if its not possible, then suggestions on a catback system for a 2.8

Get rid of the gutted cat entirerly and get a straight pipe and that will clean up the sound.

Yeah I have a straight pipe and the exhaust note it pretty clean.

I always recommend Flowmasters. They sound sweet (much better than Magnaflow's IMO) and of course flow awesome too.

NO CAT = STINKY!!

I noticed that when I brought the car up above 100 Km/h and then came to a stop it started vibrating and shuttering a bit. When i keep in under 80 Km/h this doesnt happen.

I really dont want to hack it up again and put a straight pipe and be unhappy with the results! But its easy on the pocket hard on the back.

I just find with this cat issue there are too many opinions not enough facts.

flow master flow better than magnaflow? i think not! magna beats master any day of the week, haha. seriously, striaght through vs tons of craptastic baffles: let me think... i dont really mind having gutted cats in my blazer. i think when i do 3" though i will put one in for the hell of it. i doesnt need emissions anymore since i got classic plates either.
