pwmin Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 i know sticker removal has been discussed a lot, but what about on interior parts? my car had a dashmat on it when i bought it and they used some sort of adhesive activator so the dash has some nasty residue on it where the mat was velcro'ed. will sticker shock or lighter fluid or sm adhesive remover or something else be okay? what would have the least chance of discoloring the plastic? thx. birdman Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 i would try goo gone, its worked for everything ive used it on Quote
ToroToro Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 Acetone worked nice on the velcro goo from a radar detector on my Toro's dash; didn't hurt anything. Maybe test in a small area first though, just in case. Quote
pwmin Posted November 21, 2005 Author Report Posted November 21, 2005 sticker shock worked, but there is still some hard residue left that i dont think will come off. i'll try acetone Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Try a hairdryer to warm it up... Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Be sure to try it on a small spot first. Just simple rubbing alcohol ate the paint off the steering column on my 89. Quote
1990lumina Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Gas line anti freeze or methyl hydrate works awesome for me Quote
