Was there even much of an upgrade in the braking between the 00-05 (2G) and 06 (2.5G) models? The brakes on our 04 are light years better than the "upgraded" 1G/1.5G brakes, that's for damn sure!

 

I'm curious to see if the LS4 will even fit under the hood of a 1G...

it'll fit, well i would think so, anyway. hell, if an L67 fits under a j-body...

how come no one swaps in the 4.9 Cadillac?

first off, it's a pos. a little better than the 4.5, but still a piece. besides, the L67 has similar power but is way easier to mod and there is a lot more info available.

That was actually referred to the ASG 5.0 Swap. A long time ago (4+ years or so) there was a company called ASG that did 5.0L engine swaps for W-bodies.

The brakes are amazing! I have never driven a W-body with brakes as good as these cars have!

 

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the brakes! I was driving in the parking lot just a touch faster than I should, and this car came out of nowhere so I hit the brakes, damn near put my head into the dash! They are that damn good! (Although I haven't really put the GP GT or GP GXP though the test yet.. lol)

just because brakes jolt you and feel like they're stopping fast doesnt necessarily mean they actually are. i hate when you barely touch brakes and they jerk.
