Navybass Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Would I be able to do it on my 94 GP? What would I need besides the engine? Quote

5speedz34 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Well to supplement the engine you need to mount a turbo iron duke (2.5) in the rear of the car, allowing it to move even faster. It's the only way the guys do the elusive "L67" swap. Quote
Prospeeder Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 why do the L67?!! thats teh pussay motor, put teh iron dUkE en, itz teh awzome!!1!one!1 Quote

pwmin Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 sorry, 94 is the only year you cant do the swap on. Quote
Miko K Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 You can't do the L67 swap with the Lund-atic hood scoops- at critical engine speed, calculated against the proportional gear ratio of the sound coming out of the supercharger, the engine cover will resonate at 3.14 times the speed of the rear blower blade and will cause the incoming air flow to try and suck the two scoops together, causing the car to accelerate at a negative rate. Ummm... yep, that's correct. Quote
fastbird232 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Those damn Lund hood scoops... Quote
fastbird232 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 So this is what we're doing now instead of the dreaded "SEARCH!!!" reply? Turn the thread into the "WHATEVER!?!?!" thread? Quote
DiscoStudd Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Damn, all this talk about Iron Dukes is getting me excited! Fuck swapping in an L67! Swap in a 2bbl equipped Iron Duke/THM125 combo from a 80-81 X-Body (preferably from an 80 Buick Skylark.) You'll be screamin' down the streets with 85 horses of Rochester E2ME-fueled fury!!! No, seriously, you'll be screamin'. Screamin' 'cause your car will be slower than a Yugo ... Quote

94CutlassSLCoupe Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 How much nitrous do you think a stock Duke could take? Nitrous and Turbocharged Iron Duke...now that's the ticket! Quote
fastbird232 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 How much nitrous do you think a stock Duke could take? Nitrous and Turbocharged Iron Duke...now that's the ticket! Might break the century mark...and then your engine explodes when it can't handle all those extra ponies. Quote
DiscoStudd Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Man, those guys over on http://www.irondukeswap.info need to get their act together. [whistles] Man, I wanna be part of that!!! I still rue the day I dumped my 85 Grand Am with its HEI-equipped 'Duke. There's no feeling in the world like knowing you're a "Diesel Poser" . I also deeply miss having to spray a can of starting fluid down the throttle body to get my car started in -20* weather ... Quote
Prospeeder Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 or my friends 1986 Chevy Clebrity Wagon Duke, oh man, 5 grand nuetral drop i spun the tires for like, 3 seconds takes like 15-16 quick seconds to hit 60, and another couple of minutes and u hit 85, lol, fun stuff right there Quote
