fergup
I cannot find a post for this. I already replaced my rears on my 94 convert with 6.5 Alpine Spr's. i have alpine 4 " for the front dash. it seems i must do a dash removal for these as the covers just dont pop off. Can you please assist in the method to replace the fronts . Thanks. PF
94CutlassSLCoupe
yep...you gotta get the dash out. to do that, you must: 1) remove trim around gauge cluster, two screws on edges 2) remove defroster vent and 2 screws inside there 3) remove glove box insert, 2 screws inside there 4) if it has HUD its a little more complex as you have to unscrew the hud and also remove the gauge cluster It will only take like 10 minutes...I had mine out like 10 times when i was installing the HUD
94CutlassSLCoupe
oh yeah, and i believe they are also all 7mm screws with the exception of the gauge cluster trim plate
SigEpCutlass
that's correct. make sure you're not a moron like I was and pull it up without taking off the two under the defroster vent. They haynes manual didn't say they were there so I didn't know any better. Cracked the area in the front and had to sorta patch it back together before I put it back on. It's a little tedious, but I think you'll find its worth it. It was night and day after I put my pioneer speakers up front in addition to the pioneers in the rear.
