J Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 is the carpet on the pass side floor wet? You might want to check that, or your thermostat might be stuck open. I'd check them both Quote
BurneroftheRice Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 is the carpet on the pass side floor wet? What does this mean? I've knoticed the floor in my Lesabre gets wet sometimes and the heat doesn't work. I always thought it was some other leak but is this the true corrilation? Quote
3.1LUMITIC Posted November 16, 2005 Author Report Posted November 16, 2005 the floor isnt wet but the car is running at 220 at idel then goes to 180 on the highway? Quote
TGPilot Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Most likely your core is plugged with goooooo. Need to back flush it and get the crap out of the core. Find out which way the coolant travels through your heater core. Remove both hoses on the engine side of the firewall. Put a garden hose up against the return side with just enough pressure to get the water flowing. Too much and you will blow your core in half. With the water backflowing until it runs clean, hook everything back up and you will have heat again. Quote
3.1LUMITIC Posted November 18, 2005 Author Report Posted November 18, 2005 ok thanks for the great info but wheres the heater core location? Quote
rudefyet Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 theres 2 coolant hoses that go inside the car right behind the engine, those go to the heater core the core itself is under your dash inside the car, and requires taking most the dash apart to replace Quote
3.1LUMITIC Posted November 18, 2005 Author Report Posted November 18, 2005 that sucks but ... I took the whole dash off befor and lock tite all the srews b/c it would shake its self apart. Quote
