Navybass Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 A mass airflow sensor. I was looking through my Haynes manual, and according to the picture, the 3100's are supposed to have one. Did they stop putting them on the 3100's? Quote

SigEpCutlass Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 yep i went looking for it too when i first got my cutty. There are some things for the '94 3100 that are totally wrong in that Haynes manual over the 3 years i've had my cutty. Quote
Canada Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Thats what you get for buying a cheap service manual... Quote

supreme_style21 Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Not everyone can AFFORD a GOOD service manual. Shit, a good majority of the people on this forum are highschool/college-aged students with limited cash. I've got the 'good' service manuals, but I've also got a Chiltons book I bought a few years ago.. and I DO recall the twenty bucks I spent on it to be a big portion of my budget. I could not have even imagined spending the 100+ on the Helms manuals at that time. And a lot of these guys post here for information that they can't find in the cheap manuals.. God knows I did, and still do... and the help available here is invaluable. There are tons of seasoned veterns here that could do anything mechanically related in a blindfold. Assinine comments don't really help those who are still trying to learn. Quote

Although I could afford a REAL service manual if I wanted to, I just use my Haynes manual, and the awsome amount of help right here on the forum. I'll buy a service manual when I do 3.8 swap Quote
Crazy K Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 agreed. the only reason I have a sevice manual is there was one in the truck of a car about to be crushed. And it's missing many pages. but I figure out how to do most everthing on my own anyhow, but then again.... I am an evil genius! -Ken Quote
Rocketman Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 I'm a college student, I didnt bother with a book. I shouldnt be working on engines if I can't remember how they came apart. Quote

Bossman429 Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 I have a combination of Haynes manual and Chiltons Manual for the Beretta, and between the two of them I could find what I need. Now I just use AllData at work and haven't depended on a service manual in years. Quote
dalejw3 Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Im in the process of putting a FWI on my 95 MC w/ the 3100, and i was real confused about the lack of MAF. But yeah, i just take stuff apart and if it isn't what i want, i remember how to put it back together, no service manuals here. (actually, i usually just ask people on message boards) Quote
TeeJay3800 Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 I thought MAP was a good thing because it help airflow without the MAF in the intake tube. Quote
