Pabz Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 So my backup car is now dead. 97 buick regal with l36. Electrical problem came back. Go to start the car and it wont crank, electrical is doing weird shit. Odometer is going back and forth between trip. My DIC is showing fuel ranges all over the place. The ABS light is on, along with the no traction. The FUCKING stupid thing is, I CANNOT SHIFT IT OUT OF PARK. The current remedy was to rock the car back n forth. Guess the ground made the connection but it died right away, rocked again, and fired up and drove home right away. Now it wont start. Couple days before it would stall on me while i started driving only when i would hit the turn signal, left or right. So the first 2 paragraphs lead me to believe its an external wiring harness with a bad ground, anyone have wiring diagrams or know how many ground connections there are so i can check them all. 3rd one makes me think it could be the internal one. For all w-bodies sake, please help me. I got 2 dead w-bodys :bawl: Quote
GP1138 Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Now wait a minute. If these things have a remote positive terminal, that's one of the first things I'd check. That definitely has caused problems like that before. Also, I'd look at the possibility of your battery connections being loose, or your battery going bad. Quote
Euro Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 um...i thought your 2.8 was running? Quote
Pabz Posted November 11, 2005 Author Report Posted November 11, 2005 2.8 Motor is running, tranny is loosing fluid??? These are the two things that i had checked when this first started happening, Changed the battery too. I need more suggestions on what to check. I am going to check as many grounds as i can find. Could it be some relays?? Why wont it go into neutral??? When i hit the shifter button all i can hear is a relay clicking under the steering wheel. But it doesnt move. Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 are you sure u didn't blow a lot of major fuses with a bad ground suddenly getting juice again? that is a really slim possibility but something you might want to check... gl hf Quote
Brian P Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Why wont it go into neutral??? When i hit the shifter button all i can hear is a relay clicking under the steering wheel. But it doesnt move. you're hitting the brake too before grabbing the shifter, right? Quote
