fastbird232
So I'm changing my plug wires, one at a time by tugging on one of the rears and seeing which boot it connects to. Idiot proof, right? Well, one of them I couldn't really tell, so I checked my Chiltons diagram to see which boot corresponded to the #3 cylinder...and it indicated one that I had already changed! I checked all mine against the picture, and none of them were even remotely the same. So, the question is: A) Is the diagram wrong? Did someone change my coils around? (Seems unlikely, because they were in completely different spots, like the ones that were supposed to next to each other even weren't) Regardless, the motor ran fine before that, so I put them where they'd been. But dude, WTF?
GnatGoSplat
It's a waste spark ignition with 2 plugs per coil, so as long as the wires that were switched around were on the same coil, it doesn't make any difference. I've seen discrepancies like this between manuals, and turned out they were on the same coil so it didn't really matter. 1/4, 2/5, and 3/6 are on the same coils. fastbird232
That would make sense if someone had also switched the coils around (which they may well have done). I forgot about the waste spark ignition.
