Pabz Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 The Good So it turned out to be a broken spark plug, broke right at the base where the ceramic meets the metal. Did the compression test any way and found about 150 - 155 psi per cylinder. I forgot to tell my helper to hold it at WOT so these numbers could be sketchy. Since my car was outa commision and the tires on my buick are bald i decided to do a wheel/tire swap. Cutlass on Regal Rims The Bad Throttle response still isnt that good, but its like a put-put sound i am hearing, still goes good but i think its exhaust leak since i did not change the manifold gaskets, i hope this is it!!! (most likely) The F-Ugly Regal on Cutlass Rims Quote
94CutlassSLCoupe Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 I'm really suprised you got the regal rims on there without them hitting the brakes in the front...I know the 97 GP GT wheels wouldnt fit on my old '88 CS Quote
Pabz Posted November 9, 2005 Author Report Posted November 9, 2005 they are less than 1 mm from touching I think they look 8) Quote
Pabz Posted November 9, 2005 Author Report Posted November 9, 2005 So you guys think me re-using the exhaust manifold gaskets could be causing the slight hesitation??? Quote
94CutlassSLCoupe Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 yeah...exhaust leak=vaccum leak....which would cause a hesitation, not to mention an annoying sound Quote

Vegeta Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 How does an exhaust leak = vacuum leak? EGR open? It could be your problem because the O2 will get a bad read, but its not a vacuum leak because that is reserved for the intake side of the motor. Quote
Jcrow Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 word. Exhaust dosent have anything to do with vacuum. I have a bad exhaust gasket on the rear manifold and it runs just as good as ever - but it sounds like a$$ and really angers me Quote
jeremy Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 those regal rims actually look pretty good on the cutty....good work Quote
3pt1lumina Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Sorry to get off topic, but where is there snow and salt already?? the wheels do look pretty cool on the buick, but out of place on the cutty. Quote
Pabz Posted November 9, 2005 Author Report Posted November 9, 2005 shit so i dont think its the manifold, the gaskets were pretty good. Maybe its the crossover, I drove it to work and listened to it in the car park, for sure an exhaust leak. Put put put, maybe i broke the damn EGR Tube, I HATE the damn egr. Will it spit out a code if the egr is fed with fresh air (filtered of course)? I know a few guys have blocked the exhause with a coin, just want to know if it will throw codes. Quote
