LQ1 Guys - More Timing belt advice please

I didn't want to hijack the other member's post, so I figured I'd create a seperate topic. Feel free to combine them if necessary as they're similar topics:

Attached are pictures of my timing belt. As I got the car 3+ yrs ago w/40k on it, I doubt it's ever been changed. The car has 65k now (95 Z34). I was planning to get the belt/tensioners changed at the dealer as I don't want to screw around with it myself, nor do I want to chance a shop timing it correctly.

How does the condition of the belt look? Mileage-wise, I'm due. Wear-wise, not sure.

Also, on the last pic, are the small yellow lines the timing marks? I assume in the pic that means the cams (at least the front bank) are timed correctly?

On my last z34, my belt always looked like that from 2k miles to 50k...

I might worry about the fact its 65k miles old how-ever.

I would change it, ''preventative maintenance is key!'' Whoever said that is genius.

Alrighty....I was going to bite the bullet and take it in before, or in early winter. But I think i'll wait till spring and save a little more money.

Probably def. gonna do it before us Monte owners hit up Michigan Int'l speedway - I don't know if I trust the 65k mile belt for multiple 100+ mph WOT laps

it "looks" ok, but changing it would be the best thing to do if you can spare the $ and/or time....

In that last picture, you can see the steel part of the belt. In my (limited) experience, that's a sign that you should change it fairly soon. Otherwise it looks decent.

If it keeps "walking" toward the outside of the pulleys, however, that's another story.
