JakeMetz63 Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Will the 65e bolt up to the 97 LQ1? What would I need to do for the swap? Im using a 97 Engine with wiringharness but my computer is from the 94 and im running a 60-e tranny. Is the 65 more efficient at converting bhp to whp? And finially, would this be more pratical than going Getrag hunting? I eventually want to put out over 300 hp at the crank, and ive heard the 65 holds up under power a bit better than the 60s. Thanks Jake Quote
94CutlassSLCoupe Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 the 4t60-e draws less power than the 4t65-e, although it is much stronger... I would say that the Getrag 282 is the most efficent trans in the w-body car line Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 60-E electronics cannot control a 65-E. The fluid pressure is vacuum modulator-controlled in a 60-E and fully electronic in a 65-E. Quote
JNGTP94 Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 it does bolt up... but as said above the electronics side of it is different... i do believe its been done before but i would definatly search around too see what would beed to be done Quote
99RegalGS Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 IIRC 97 LQ1's came with the 4T65-E anyway. Quote
5speedz34 Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 IIRC 97 LQ1's came with the 4T65-E anyway. Yup! Thats right. Why not take 65-e internals and have them put in your 60-e case? Quote
