TGPilot Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 I had gone through a lower mount per year for a while before I got my new rack and pinion. What does a rack and pinion have anything to do with how often motor mounts are worn out? :? Quote

idbeast Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 No room for my camera, darn Carl Zeiss zoom lens... Does this help any with the bracket location??? http://www.turbograndprix.com/infopics/oillines.jpg Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 7, 2005 Author Report Posted December 7, 2005 no, its hidden, right behind that bar that supports those wire looms, you can even see the conectors 2 wires, Red and black/blueish between the Bar supporting the loom and the Coils, you can see it at an angle, right through where the hose to th turbo-airbox and thrrough the big coolant line and its right there, easiest to see with a flashlight Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 7, 2005 Author Report Posted December 7, 2005 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v210/Prospeeder/DSCF0943.jpg See, THis is Kuntzie's TSTE, the oil return line is pointed in Green, and the Plug is pointed in Blue, My OIl return line is freaking RIGHT Up against that plug for some reason, like right up, pushing the plug out of its socket Quote
idbeast Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 I think your oil return line to the oil pan is bent up and in... Notice in these two pictures that even though the DIS is not installed, pay particular attn to the oil return line location. http://www.turbograndprix.com/infopics/nodis2.jpg http://www.turbograndprix.com/infopics/neweng.jpg Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 7, 2005 Author Report Posted December 7, 2005 Yea it does! it bends down and out of site like that, but its almost like it bends at a sharper angle, almost like a 90* angle, ill have to double check tomarrow, but in http://www.turbograndprix.com/infopics/nodis2.jpg you can see the DIS plug right there, it plugs in, but think of the oil return hard line is further back and more of an angle, and its right were the DIS would plug in, and pushes it out http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v210/Prospeeder/1113.jpg thats basicly where mine is, see how the plug and the side of the line hit Quote
idbeast Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 Yes yours is bent up, (green line) rebend it to clear the DIS plug... tomorrow I'll I'll dig out a DIS and put it on both engines (then take pics) so you can see the difference. Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 7, 2005 Author Report Posted December 7, 2005 Alright thanks a Ton! Mice are making a home in my TGP now that its not being drivin, Turds on the plenum, xover, and what not, and before i start it i better make sure theres not one hiding in the hose to the turbo Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 7, 2005 Author Report Posted December 7, 2005 oh, and how would i bend it, it seems almost fragile, it moves a bit, i dont wanna bust it somthing, or if i slowly but firmly move it over, will it bend a bit? Quote
idbeast Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 Yes, I'll get you better pics tomorrow evening... Quote
Garrett Powered Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 damn mice! I hate those bastersd! It helps if you dont leave candy and shit laying around in the car. I wasnt driving the car 6 months and they moved in and made a huge mess. Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 8, 2005 Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 OK< so HOW do i bend it away from the DIS plug then, just push it over slowly but firmly and hold it there, then some more, then a little more? Or what?! Quote
GP1138 Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Dude, you might want to consider relocating your coils and ICM if you're having this much trouble. Quote
Garrett Powered Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 That is not for the weak hearted.. sounds like fun until you try it is what I heard. Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 8, 2005 Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 Please some1 tell me if i can bend it, and im definatly not redoing my DIS and coils Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 10, 2005 Author Report Posted December 10, 2005 Ok this is rediculous, the fucker wont bend at all, i need smaller zipties if im gonnna do that, but what the hell?! why would it just now be too close??? Jeff M, Do you know what i can do??? Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 take the pipe off first and then carefully bend it. it's just two 10mm nuts and it will come off the oil pan. Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 10, 2005 Author Report Posted December 10, 2005 http://www.tgpforums.com/tgp/viewtopic.php?t=2816 according to gutless its 2 Studs, whats the difference, im still a learner if its 2 10 mill bolts, easy to get too, or not... Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 it's two 10mm nuts. the oil pan has two studs that the nuts thread onto. it doesn't use bolts. Quote
Prospeeder Posted December 10, 2005 Author Report Posted December 10, 2005 oh ok, its high enough to wear i wouldnt need to dain oil, ill just rig this fucker up with Zip ties and mess with it in the heated autoshop, how long is the hard line to the pan? does it go back in its place very willingly? Quote
