Dirty Rockstar Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Yes, I think it needs a tune up.. Here are the symptoms: Sluggish acceleration- I hit the gas it barely wants to go.. Rough idle- Not horrible, but it sounds like 'Putt.. putt.. putt..' out the back of the car Even when cruising, it seems to have a hard time keeping it steady.. I am not sure if it is the transmission or not anymore.. I have a list of what I am going to try to cure some of my problems: Spark plugs and wires Fuel Filter Air Filter Oil change Transmission fluid/filter change Anything else I should do while Im at it? I need my car runmning right again.. Because froim 16.1 gallons on my last fill up, i hvae gone ~70 miles and I am already between half and 3/4.. I used to be able to get over 100 per 1/4.. I think all it really needs is a tune up.. Anything else you guys think I should try, I'd be appreciative of it! 8) Quote
GOT2B GM Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Sounds like it might be missing. I'd definately do plugs and wires for sure. Quote

DiscoStudd Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 You're talking about the Cutty, correct? Regardless, be sure to change that O2 sensor, also . FWIW, I had a stumbling problem on my 94 GA (3100) and I changed everything (plugs, wires, gas filter, air filter, O2 sensor) and cleaned out the throttle body a half dozen times and it still ran like shit. Took it to the dealer (it was still under warranty) and they found the TPS was shot... Quote
GP1138 Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Check all the normal stuff, but also you might want to put a known good set of coils and ICM on it. Make sure all cylinders have spark, and maybe put some STP injector cleaner through it. Quote
