kuntzie Posted November 7, 2005 Author Report Posted November 7, 2005 ok anyone know where i can get a 3900 top end lol or what would i need if i was going to do a 3x00 top end swap anyways Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 http://www.feavs.com/ though it IS a bit dffierent for us, because we have to take special consideration of the turbo parts.. I THINK the only things you need to worry about are the exhaust manifolds. You'll need to do some port grinding to get them to match up, unless you have a shop making custom ones and a new crossover pipe while they're at it ($$$$$). Quote
Prospeeder Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 http://www.GM.com, almost every car with a V6 has the 3500, all the Vans do, G6, Malibu, lacross i belive. As for the 3900, G6 GTP, Impala, and malibu i think* Quote
brianteel Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 the 3800 is gone after next year i think it is and every motor that has a 3800 now is getting the 3900 IIRC Quote
manitcor Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 the 3900 and the newer version of the 3500 (the vvt version) are technailly GenIV 60v6 and you cant use either of thier heads on a GenIII engine. HOWEVER there is a GenIII version of the 3500 (00-03) with which you can swap top ends. Also Im not entirely sure (im working on getting heads to compare) but I belive that 03+ 3400 heads and 3500 heads are the same heads. They both use 8mm rocker bolts as opposed to the old 10mm size. This also opens up the possibility of using higer ratio rockers availble for the 3800. Quote
