ShockTherapy
my GTP runs fine when it's warmed up, however from a cold start, it won't stay running unless i hold it at 2,500 for 30 seconds, then it'll idle like shit around 1,100, and sound like a damn 305... then as i throw it in reverse, the SES light comes on, and then shuts off 30 seconds later as i'm idling down my gravel road, then i drove it around, and it sounded/ran fine, i took it home and left it idling for 6 or 7 minutes as a ran the saturn around the block for the last time, sounded/smelled fine, so i kill the key, and i heard a faint hissing that lasted for less than 2 seconds, i popped the hood, the coolant's fine, and the oil is the proper color... i'm kinda stumped, my grandma's making me take it to a mechanic tomorrow, and i guess i just want to know what to tell him to look out for, i could probably fix it myself, but i lack the tools and the facilities... EDIT: i'm taking it to a mechanic on monday, scroll down for my hellish autozone expierance...

digitaloutsider
Go get the codes scanned, you're wasting time asking here when your car most likely knows the exact problem that's wrong. Actually knowing what code you're throwing is a BIG help..

ShockTherapy
Go get the codes scanned, you're wasting time asking here when your car most likely knows the exact problem that's wrong. Actually knowing what code you're throwing is a BIG help.. advance's actron kept fucking out, and the idiots at autozone kept telling me my car is OBD I. and since they couldnt paperclip my car, the manager told me "your car must've been messed with, and someone re-wired the ALDL port wrong..." to that i say "no, it's a 'crossover year', it's OBD 1.5, you need an OBD II scanner, and an ALDL connector." "if it's a crossover year it will have both connectors" i just started laughing, and i left. shouldnt have laughed eiher, because i have a pending application for the night shift there, so i could possibly be working with this meathead. Dude, sorry to hear your new car's giving you trouble already.. thanks dude, yeah, i'm kinda pissed about it too, but oh well, whaddya do ? Kalgorn
Could it be something with your timing? Makes me wonder because it has to do with cold starts. I would at least get that checked.
