Redwingvksm Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Here are for the people that have no idea what we talk about when we say watch out for thoes darn lower intake gaskets. If you look close enough you'll see that both passages are toast. The lady of the vehicle thought it was 'normal' to keep adding coolant... BTW - this engine is a 3.4 w/ only 60,xxx miles on it (2000) Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Yes that is awesome!!!!! Actually that fucking blows Quote
Redwingvksm Posted November 6, 2005 Author Report Posted November 6, 2005 ...i feel for ya man Don't feel for me. Feel for the lady that's paying me to do it! Quote
supreme_style21 Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Fuckin GM. They need to recall that shiat. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 who puked in the engine? LOL Quote
Hairdo12 Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 How do you clean something like that up? Do you have to dismantle the entire engine? Run cleaners through it? Or Change the oil like 15 times? Quote
R Dubya Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 pretty much just change the oil 5 or so times and it will clean out. Have to do the filter as well a few times. Damn thats a mess. Quote
pitzel Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Ummmm why is the coolant green? That car should have been filled with Dex-Cool, right? Quote

J Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 she was probably a "TYPICAL" woman driver and bought what "CLEM" told her to at the auto parts store Quote

Redwingvksm Posted November 9, 2005 Author Report Posted November 9, 2005 ***Update*** She didn't want a new engine - just the intake gaskets done. Bad Idea. Due to her also overheading - the heads are now warped, but she does NOT want us to put in a new engine yet. She'd rather re-pay us to take off the heads/mill them/replace the gaksets/replace the heads and see how the engine runs. I tell you - sometimes people are not bright at all. Also - this vehicle does have a knock now. Told her when fixed the engine is on borrowed time - she does not care just want to save a few pennies... Quote
Pabz Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 I was stupid to do mine, but i did it to learn. I would never ever do that much work without removing the engine. It would be easier for you to swap that thing out man, seriously, not worth the time and the effort. And my car still isnt running right yet. Quote

What ever - if she wants to keep me busy for the next 2 weeks - I don't care, as long as that green river keeps on a' flowin! Quote
Pabz Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Hopefully she doesnt slap your ass with a lawsuit after it dies. Some people expect the impossible. Have fun dood and wear a back brace!!! If you can take a pic of the cylinder walls i wanna see what kinda shape they are in. Quote
