fastbird232 Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 Do you absolutely HAVE to drain the coolant when yanking the UIM off to change the plugs? If so, how much of it? Quote
Vegeta Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 I never do. You will lose such a small amount that its not worth bothering with in my opinion. Quote
fastbird232 Posted November 5, 2005 Author Report Posted November 5, 2005 Understood. Thanks for the quick reply. Quote
slick Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 I never drain my coolant when pulling the plenum. BTW, why are you pulling the plenum? Quote
fastbird232 Posted November 5, 2005 Author Report Posted November 5, 2005 Rear plugs, if I can't make do with extensions and u-joints. Quote
birdman Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 if you get a saw and cut small relifs where that weatherstrip is you can easily get to them, or u can use a hammer and bend it over witch ever you want. Quote
fastbird232 Posted November 5, 2005 Author Report Posted November 5, 2005 Just did it. No sawing or hammering required. Just pulled off the weather stripping, used a 6 inch extension--u-joint--two inch extension and they came right out. WAY easier than some people on here have said. Quote
pwmin Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 hmm, never tried it that way, but then again i never had it off just for plugs. but then again mine is different i wish it was that easy for me. never drain it on mine either. besides, it only take maybe an hour to r&r the plenum on mine.
