Cutlass87 Posted November 4, 2005 Author Report Posted November 4, 2005 thanks invasion1. do you know why my 3.1 cutlass won't peel out? it will when the road is wet or there is loose gravel. i can floor it from a dead stop and the front will go up and the rear squats down.. with those mods from my last post do u think it will help some? z284pwr Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I have them in my '90 TGP plus the UDP and happy with both of them, my bottom end sucks too, but thanks to a cam and a torque converter that don't get along.... Quote
john99gtp Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 i could get my old 3.1 lumi to somewhat spin the tires. if i was going for a burnout, i did neutral drops Quote

Probably needs a tune up...new plugs, wires, fuel filter, and some injector cleaner would be nice if it hasn't been done in a while Quote
Vegeta Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I just tuned a friends 89 regal 3.1 that was a total dog. Bone stock, yet for some reason his car was just way too rich with the factory chip. I can't really do anything like I did with his car for anyone else without the car or datalogs, but it now lights em up and runs a hell of a lot better. All the sensors were looking good too so go figure. Quote
Aaron Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 do you know why my 3.1 cutlass won't peel out? Sorry, I do know why acutally, and apparently, so do you: 3.1 That just mihgt have a lot to do with it... On topic, FFP is a good company with a great product, you won't be dissapointed. Quote
Bossman429 Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 My TSTE won't spin the tires off of the line, unless I power brake it some. If I just mash the gas from a stop, it will lurch forward about 3 feet until the turbo spools up then it will spin the tires for 50 feet, or until I let off the gas, whichever comes first. I have driven many W's and some will spin the tires off the line, some won't. I think it's a combination of tires, and mostly state of tune. I'm sure transmission condition has something to do with it too. In my Beretta (3.1 w/TH125 3 speed, 205/55R16 tires) I can mash the gas from a stop, and almost stay in place spinning the tires. The 3.1 has a lot of low end toque, if you can't get those tires spinning, there could be something wrong/neglected. Quote
Vegeta Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 yeah, 3.1s don't spin the tires aaron. You are so fucking cool... I thought you were done with this board? I wish someone would just ban you from here so that I would only have to skim past your posts on realfierotech. Do you have a headache from lack of brain activity? Quote

Anyone who has a 3.1 that can't easily break them loose on dry pavement, has a motor it need of some care. Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Even my turbo doesn't spin it's 215s with ease, even brake torquing it still trying to figure that one out. It definetly could with a working e-brake and around corners, but it has trouble doing anything in a straight line. Quote
Miko K Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Wow, I wish I had your problems guys... How can I make my car to stop spinning the tires when I floor it and just take off? Quote

Same here, the stock engine and the built engine both would not spin the tires, hell they don't break loose until 2500+ when boost kicks in .... The new engine I think is something other than just not running right :x Quote

I hope they do ban you Aaron cause all you fucking do now is come in here and insult other people's shit. Don't you have anything better to do like build another car and make claims you can't back up about it?!? Get a fucking life you looser. Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Back to the topic at hand, having the FFP dogbones will allow your cutty to have the chance to smoke it's tires. This is due to the fact that the FFP dogbones allow a lot more of the power your engine generates to actually make it to the wheels. Quote
Kalgorn Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 The FFP mount will definately help you spin the tires. It helped my LQ1 after I put it on. I can spin them at just about every stop. Quote
Grand Moff Joseph Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 My engine has been very well cared for, and I can't spin the tires on my Lumina to save my life. Quote

Don't you have anything better to do like build another car and make claims you can't back up about it?!? Get a fucking life you looser. Actually I still post in reference to the 3.4, and the Fiero, and am helpful wherever I can be. What claims have I made about the car I'm building? I said it will have a mildly build 3.4 swap, and it is in the process of getting that. I also said I'd LIKE to see around 400hp. Whether it gets that N/A or nto we shall see. But that isn't a claim. I have a life thank you, something about 18 credit hours, a 3.8 GPA, working 30 hours a week, and still having time to continue my hobbies. Quote
pwmin Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 aaron's life is with me now, so back off. we have recently become life partners. i didnt notice any diff when i put my ffp stuff on my car, but i dont have any dyno numbers or anything before them. Quote
