Rabbi Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 there used to be a guide that showed how to wire up the fans to always be on, Anyone have the link to it? Quote
Darksyde Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Just tap it into one of the line's going to the A/C compressor. There's a turn key power there. That's what i did. Been that way for over 2 yrs with no problem p.s. they run right next to each other in the harness....at least on the 91 Z Quote
chadz34 Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Why would you always want it to be on? Quote
PeNZ Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Well you make a switch to have it run when you want too. Quote
1990lumina Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Why would you always want it to be on? Alot of people (myself included) don't like the temp guage to go up as high as it does stock when the fans(s) turn on. For myself, when I 'm sitting in traffic downstown on a hot day and I see that temp guage creeping up there to half and the fans kick in for about 20seconds...briing it back down then it immediately goes back up...yeah I would rather just leave them run and have the temp stay lower.... However for myself, since I drive the car in winter, and the fans never have to turn on I never have installed the manual switch because it is only really hot around here for a couple weeks and that's it...but itf I lived somewhere where it was always hot I'd have that switch installed. Nothing like hitting the freeway and watching the temp fall within 30seconds of getting up to speed lol Quote
Vegeta Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 Its not good for your alt to run all the time. It can also possibly cause a wall of air to stop moving through the radiator at certain speeds...at least the engine driven fans had issues with that sometimes. Either a reprogrammed chip for sooner turn on times or a switch to turn the fans on would be much better than making them run all the time. Stock turns them off at 70 or 50 mph depending on the year and code. Quote
