TheAntiCivic Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 I've got a 91 GP SE and it's a cer I've kepts because I like it and it's a good car to have when my main car is down for an upgrade (Currently is a 98 Jetta VR6) About 2 years ago the car was stolen, driven hard, both headgaskets were blown, and then we found it on the side of the road dead. New headgaskets went on but the car has never felt the same since... I've decided it's time to put a brand new 3.1 motor and tranny in and while it's out I'm gonna stick in a good cam. I want a cam that keeps a factory like idle and still creates fun power. I know the top end won't be anything to jump and scream about but, some suggestions on a smooth streetable cam would be nice. Thanks guys. Quote
slick Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 IMO, stick a 3400 in it and call it a day. Theres not much work to be done doing that, and you will get gob's more power over a cam that will probably do close to nothing on a stock engine. Quote

TheAntiCivic Posted November 2, 2005 Author Report Posted November 2, 2005 I don't want a swap, this car is going to do nothing more the point A to point B traveling... I just wanna get suggestions on a good cam, I'm not really worried about hp numbers and being faster then everyone else or whatever. My Jetta is the street driven track car. I just noticed I still haven't posted enough to not be considered a newbie even tho I joined over 2 years ago... ha. Quote
