Took me like ~45min. It is sweet, NO extra vibration in the cab, but definatly better take offs.

I'm also considering this on my STE.

I have read the write up on it on Chris A's website, but haven't tried it yet.

I don't want to talk down the FFP dogbones, I mean lots of people have them, and they likely work great, but I want my car to look stock, and I don't think the high polished FFP dogbones would look right with my otherwise unpolished intake, and valve cover.

Now that I have a spare set of dogbones with the bushings falling out, it's worth a try.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Michael....I have his CO's and love them....I just don't want to pay that much for the engine mounts......If i was going to dress up my engine bay, then i'd get them cause they look good...

Anyone have the link to the write up? I would like to make all poly stuff for my car as well.. How much are talkin for the Poly stuff? THanks for the link and some info! Yes, Pics.. ASAP!

Ooooh... Daddy like..

Where can one get Poly stuff? Are there any other Suspension parts that benefit from this? Like bushings, things like that? I really am wantin to do this when I get the Lumi goin again!

I'm getting ready to have bushings made out of something a little bit tougher than Poly, and a lot cheaper than purchasing these. Just gotta take my inserts out of my FFP mount to get some measurements, and get mine in. Can't let out the secret yet until I have them, but they are very promising. Bad thing though, you will probably have a bit more vibration in the cabin, but that doesn't bother me one bit

Oh, and he can use the stuff to make some bushings for other suspension components as well. Cough cough Adam

Is that referenced to me because I have a highly modified suspension?

Yep. Supposidly, it is good for autocrossing... Once I get my inserts made and in, I'll let you know how they feel. If I think they are better than poly, i'll start getting dimensions for ya.

You didnt powder coat them white.

I couldnt get my driverside mount to fit without taking 1/16 off the face of the poly, looks like yours cleared fine.

Do the new mounts come with the metal pieces that the bolt goes through? Or do you need to transfer your old ones?

Posted

I'll get them powdercoated white....just need to find some rubber bushings to replace the other side....then it'll happen....

I was going to ask why you didn't do the other side of the mounts.

There's no problem with doing the other side, right? Were you just short on cash, or time to get the other end bushings? They are the same size right?

Did you use the bushings from Energy Suspension, part # 3.7103G (Black poly bushings for a 4cylinder Fiero) as it says on the TPSgarage.com?

I did only one side so there wouldnt be too much vibration, You could do it the same way if you wanted to, you just need another set. I doubt the vibration would be that bad either.

Yup those are the bushings, 3.7103G Energy Susp.
