rmac24vdohc Posted September 22, 2002 Report Posted September 22, 2002 For the first time since I got my GTP last summer I decided to drop the hammer in a parking lot. It did a nice burnout but still accelerated pretty well even with the TCS off. When I came back to see my marks there were two big black ones where my tires used to be. I figured since I was accelerating that it allowed both tires to spin. Then I really decide to get after it. I set the emergency brake and hit it. Wow!! It pulled the damn back tires. It still moved ahead but this time a whole bunch of smoke flew everywhere. It was awesome. Still there were two individual black lines. So is the 4T65 posi? I know they don't come with limited slips. Shouldn't one tire just spin if there isn't much traction. Just wondering. Thanks Mac 1994 Olds Cutlass Conv DOHC 2001 GP GTP Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted September 22, 2002 Report Posted September 22, 2002 Nope, the 4T65-E is not posi/limited slip. You'll lay two lines of tread if traction is equal for both tires. Only when one tire has more traction than another will you only lay one line. Quote
