19Cutlass94
I can get 8mm plug wires either in a copper core, or graphite. Which one is better? Is there even a difference to the two? Im just going to use normal AC Delco copper plugs when I do a tune up on my car. Is there any difference between the wires or no? Also I cant imagine there would be that much of a difference between 7mm wires and the 8mm universal wires that I can get for my engine. THe_DeTAiL3R
I'd go with whatever is cheapest (as long as they don't look like they're gonna fall apart). 7mm should be fine. I've never looked into grahite myself (cheap ass). Oh yeah the AC Delcos are great plugs... I just replaced mine but I could have just cleaned the old ones that were in there! 19Cutlass94
Im considering trying out the platnuim plugs, AC Delco, since I can get them for about 2 or 3 bucks a pop, and if it makes the car run that bad, Ill change them out. But the 8mm wires are Accel wires.... there like 30 bucks, no including my discount. Thats kinda cheap for wires isnt it? The other 7mm wires are mor expensive, but there guaranteed for as long as I own the car... I try to use nothing but Delco, some of the best stuff there! But my plugs right now (judging by how they looked last time I pulled them from my lost cylinder) are prolly pretty shitty right now, not even worth cleaning. mfewtrail
Get some stock AC Delco wires. $45-50 at most part chains that carry them(lifetime warranty). Over the years I've tried other warrantied wires and most are so cheap that they fall apart the first time you remove them after they have some miles on them, I've never had that issue with the delcos for what it's worth. ToroToro
The Accel wires aren't custom fitted are they? That would be the reason they are kinda cheap I would imagine. You'd have to trim and put them together yourself. It's not difficult to do, but you should be aware... Then again, the "pro fit" 7.5mm Autolites I got fit like shit too....so I'd say AC Delco wires if I knew any better.
19Cutlass94
Does Delco make 7mm wires? Because I think the ones that are on my car are like 5mm, lol if that But yeah, those Accel were the "universal" ones.

The stock wires are probably adequate enough for anything you would ever do to increase power on a 3100.
ToroToro
Factory "Packard" ones are 7mm, so I assume the Delcos are the same.

Basically its just more reliable. I doubt there would be any improvment, but the wires I have (Im guessing 5mm) look like theyve been through hell and back, and i cant imagine they actaully work very good at this point. ToroToro
I guarantee you they are bigger than 5mm...my stock ones said 7mm on the casing. The ones on my 3800 were 8mm.
supreme_style21
I just dropped like 28 bucks on ACDelco wires. Stick with what she was born with if you haven't modded it to hell and back.
