Kevinsluminaeuro Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 woo i finally came to the conclusion that i need to tear down my engine and get the heads done because they are warped and when the cyclinder pushes up i guess its puting to much pressure into the cooling system and causing air pockets which in return cuz my engine to overheat im really looking forward to tearing down my engine but on the other hand my engine should run mint when im done Quote
Pabz Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Currently in the process of doing this on the 2.8 Link Here Quote
Rocketman Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Currently in the process of doing a 3100. Its gunna be hell reconnecting all the wires and plugs though. I have never worked on these engines though. EEK! Quote
Kevinsluminaeuro Posted October 28, 2005 Author Report Posted October 28, 2005 well i took it all apart today took about 4 hours end result ended up being exactly what i thought water was being forced into the cyclinder cuz the head gasket broke but i was also suprised to see that the intake gasket was well past its life span and leaking as well, so tomorrow the car should be on the road again and no more stupid overheating Quote
Rocketman Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 I got my lower intake manifold off and it looked like it was leaking oil out the sides slightly but everything else looked good, still need to get down to the heads tho Quote
CuttySup Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Outboard or inboard cylinder bank? Quote
Rocketman Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Outboard or inboard cylinder bank? The sides of the valley where its flat, where it can leak down the side of the block. On the outside it was really gunked up. _____ | | here----> \ \ <----and here |____| -Rocketman Quote
