Spoon
How can you tell if a brake booster is gone? I had it in a shop and they told me it was toast. I can step on the brakes and stop going in town speeds, but highway speeds it doesn't seem to stop as fast. Is there a way to test the booster? could it maybe be the master cylinder? Supreme Cutlass
a bad brake booster will make the pedal feel hard.
Spoon
when stepping on the brakes I can hear the booster kick in, but the pedal feels hard. The pedal doesn't go down very much. Can a booster be 1/2 good?
Supreme Cutlass
What do you mean when you say that you can hear it kick in?? Do you have a Powermaster III system? If so, that's totally different than vacuum boosted.
Spoon
No its a vaccum booster. You can hear a quick his when the brake is applied.
