99RegalGS
Today I got bored so I wanted to take off the TB in my Regal. The throttle was starting to stick a little and I figured it was time to clean it out. After I took the TB off and seeing how dirty it was I decided to take the UIM off as well. Man was it dirty!!! Got it cleaned up decent now, I would just like to port out the backhalf of the TB is smaller than the opening of the UIM. Pics here. http://www.jbarbieri.net/~gsregal/UIM/ Many pics. DiscoStudd
<-- Waits for pics to load on dialup Veddy interesting. So from what I can tell, the UIM is a 2 piece unit? Good info for the few of us L27 owners around here . Thanks for the pics! Funny thing I noticed in those pics, the EGR on your L27 is the same "digital" unit used on the 3.1's and early 3100's, whereas the one on my L27 is the "linear" style used on the 96-99 3100's... Yes, the UIM is 2 pieces. Didn't know there was 2 pieces as well untill I pulled the UIM off the car and plop, there goes the UIM insert. lol The EGR valve changed from Digital to Linear in 94. Damn that thing is dirty! I didn't know the 3800's had such a different coolant resevoir! Yeah it is pretty dirty. I really want to take off the UIM in the Bonneville after seeing this one. lol I like the coolant resevoir in my Regal better than the LQ1's had. Get's in your way less often. I always wanted to see if it would have fit in the Cutlasss, though I'm sure it would be a tight fit with the LQ1.
