99RegalGS Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 I really hate how the CD player in my Bonne ONLY plays CD's and no tuner. Very annoying on longer trips. I was curious if any of you guys knew if it's possible to interchange the main circut board from a cassette radio into my CD player radio. I ask this because the Cassette radios are MUCH cheaper than the CD HU's. Thanks in advance. Quote
DiscoStudd Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Well if it helps you any, the Pontiac cassette stereos appear similar from 94 to 03 (or whenever they were discontinued) on the outside, but the "guts" are completely different from year to year. I had the stock (tape) stereo from my 95 Prix apart to see if I could transplant the tape deck mechanism from a 2000 Grand Am stereo, and the only common part between the 2 stereos were the faceplates... 1990lumina Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Only way to know 100% is take both apart and see if they look similar. Quote
99RegalGS Posted October 24, 2005 Author Report Posted October 24, 2005 Thanks for the info Disco. I would have tried to take both apart and see if they whould interchange, but there's a problem. I don't have a cassette radio to rip apart. lol Quote
