the clutch pedal in a retta is attached to it's own bracket which is in turn bolted to the firewall. the w's clutch pedal attaches to the steering column plate along with the brake pedal

Thanks. Another question- about the trans intermediate shaft(jack shaft?).

Do all 282 and 284's have it? Or are they different from W-body to J-body? How about the torque rating- do you guys know any numbers for 282 or 284? The reason I'm asking is because I found out that the J-body clutch has 14 splines( I guess 282) and the W-body (I guess 284) has 23 splines. The price of the clutches for the 23 splines skyrockets once I look for one that can hold 450ft.lbs. torque, while the 14 spline ones are affordable.

P.S. stockgp, your avatar makes me hurt when I look at it. Poor kid has depth perception problems... Or is it the cheap swimming gogles :?

i believe the lengths are different for the intermediate shaft between w bodies and other cars. as for your other questions i don't know. i bought a 282 a few years ago and i've been looking for the rest of the parts since then

and i believe the kid in my avatar had his eyes closed when he made the jump

you need a w-body trans. it is the only one with the shaft. you will also need an oil filter adapter because the stock wont fit. if you need one one guy on here is making ones that work will for the L67 if that is what you are using.....

are you running the trans with all those mods......you are not going to get good traction.
