rshissler
Whats a good way to kep my box from slidin around? Should i just screw it fast to the floor or would those rubber feet things stop it? or any other way to do it
Garrett Powered
you use construction foam, but you have to use aluminum foil and spray adhesive first.
19Cutlass94
you could try some velcro (sp?) on the bottom of the box so it can grip the carpet in your trunk.
Cam'ron
i tried velcro in my buick but it didnt help very much at all the velcro doesnt grip as much to the carpet as you might think
THe_DeTAiL3R
I have the same problem. I think what I might try doing is taking out the speaker, and drilling some screws so that they go threw the wood and would "claw" into the carpet. badassoldspower
Ummmm then when your carpet starts sliding around, what are you gonna do when the woofer goes with the carpet? I have mine secured with two L-brackets that are fastened to the RSTB
Cam'ron
thats what i ended up doing... my box was a custom built one that sat up on the "shelf" in the back of my buick and i just used 2 L brackets and bolted it down

Garrett Powered
I got a 50 lb speaker, and the amp and battery are each 50 lb+/- 10 lb. With everything in the trunk, it has got to be over 150 pounds! maybe 175. I don't know if my 350 Ft.lbs. of torque will even move it

96GranSport
I actually screwed 4 hinged L brackets to the floor of my trunk and to my sub box. I made the holes on the floor a bit larger and put in Molly bolt style plugs. That allows me to unscrew the bottoms when I need to and move the box around without worrying about stripping out the holes. I also used some silicone to seal around each hole so no moisture would come up through there. Just a thought.
jeremy
not permanantly mounting it and allowing it to move around is good because it gives you easy access in case you need to throw the sub box at someone during a race.

My TS-W2504SPL Premiers are only like 24lbs each so I'd love to know what you're running. My amp is maybe 10lbs and box maybe 60lbs (slot port 1.5 cu. ft. X 2). Where do you get a 50lb amp or battery by the way? You might want to downgrade to what everyone else on the planet is running. Just a little poking fun is all. Garrett Powered
It is a JL Audio w-7 13.5" DVC sub with 3 ohms/coil The coils are ran together and pull 1.5 ohms out of the 1000 w monoblock. I picked up the amp the other day and the SOB was alot heavier than I remember. The battery is a Bi-Mart deepcycle/RV battery.
